SMEs Must Not Overlook Cyber Security

A common misconception among small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) is that cyber security is primarily a concern for large corporations. Many believe that cybercriminals focus their attacks on big companies, government bodies, and international organisations to achieve maximum disruption or financial gain.

However, a recent report by Liquid Cloud and Cyber Security challenges this notion. Covering Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, the research reveals a 76% surge in cyber-attacks on businesses in these regions. While the data focuses on large enterprises, the implications are clear—SMEs cannot afford to ignore cyber security.
